Using astronomical programs to retro-calculate celestial events in the night sky is what led to Rick Larson’s discovery of the star of Bethlehem. This technique has also been used by scholars looking at ancient texts/records to construct models for ancient timelines.

What are your thoughts on this Focus series so far?

Still waiting for my DVD to arrive, so not up with the ‘star’ theory yet. This came in from BAR today; http://reply.biblicalarchaeology.org/dm?id=029E76BAF8960E9ECAA65078766383521D32782D0BC0D1F7 Any comments?

I was introduced to The Star of Bethlehem about three years ago. It was available at a local library. I am part of a community that follows the Hebraic feasts and lunar calendar and events such as “blood moons” eclipses that occur on these feasts. You can imagine that this documentary was more than fascinating. It was too exciting to go to sleep after seeing such information. I’m SO, SO, SO glad HFS is spotlighting this documentary. Looking forward to more.
