What are you thoughts on the information the Revelation scholars shared during this Focus?

“Scaring the Hell Out of You with Dr. Alex Stewart” reminded me of the months leading up to the moment I was born again. I experienced what John Newton, in his second stanza of “Amazing Grace,” says: “’Twas was grace that taught my heart to fear.” I feared dying because I came to the certainty that my destiny would be hell. That fear was a legitimate motivation to receive Christ. As Newton did, I also felt the powerful release of fear: “Twas grace that my fears relieved the hour I first believed.”

I went to the theater to see part 1 – Times of Fire. It was very illuminating and disturbing. If we ever needed to come together in unity for purposes of prayer and worship in these oppressive times, it is now. My thoughts from the movie are, “Let’s not wait until persecution gets so out of control. Let’s come together and fulfill John 17 now.” I did very much appreciate one of the panelists’ views from the perspective that the Times of Fire were both from destructive persecution on the one hand while igniting a unity in God’s people on the other hand. That fire of unity, being so unique, would become something to overcome the darkness of persecution. That was the glimpse of hope I got from the movie.
