Have you seen the new film “The 7 Churches of Revelation: Times of Deception”? What were your thoughts? Do you believe the same spiritual dangers those churches faced pose a threat to us today?

I have seen the first video (and have recently watched many interesting videos). In the 90s and early 2000s, we made several trips to Turkey and 7 churches (its amazing how much these sites have changed since then)

We recently just started a Friday Night Revelation Study. We have studied it for years and recently have had some questions, so we decided to study again from a fresh perspective.

We are first going through the churches as a character study first–which we do believe pertains to every Christian (past, present and future). The comment “hear what the Spirit says to The Churches”–means there is a message from each church to us today. (There is also a Gospel Age history which the Churches show–but that is another study)

    We recently studied Thyatira.

It was my sister who actually noticed this about Jezebel.

(EMTV) But I have this against you, that you tolerate your wife Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit fornication and eat things sacrificed to idols.

(Murdock) But I have a charge against thee, because thou sufferest thy woman Jezabel, who saith she is a prophetess, and teacheth, and seduceth my servants to whoredom, and to eating of the sacrifices of idols.

(WEB) But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

    (ABP+) ButG235 I haveG2192 againstG2596 you,G1473 thatG3754 you allowG863 G3588 your womanG1135 G1473 G3588 Jezebel,

Both the Nicolaitans and the Balaam also are mixed up in sexual immorality. So what makes Jezebel different?

I like the thought in these versions—she is related to you.

Many can stand tall for righteousness till someone close to us is embroiled in it. Then we shut up. So, while we might stand against the Nicolaitans and those after Balaam–but when our children bring home their same sex partners or shack up with someone–we get really silent. Kind of like Eli who let his sons do all kinds of mischief–even after Samuel told him that God was going to punish them.

Those are just my thoughts on Thyatira from our recent study.

From our previous studies on the 7 churches–one of our goals in this new studies is to see the personal application.

Ephesus–they have the Truth down pat–they know and are straight on Doctrine, but they place that above the Love of Christ–and therefore become very legalistic. (comments from David Guzik–have really helped to bring some clarity on this type of study)

(Leaving the Love of Christ–can manifest itself differently–he takes a back seat as above, or we forget why we became Christians in the first place–or it trickles down in love of the brethren)

    Thanks for listening. Lord bless.

I enjoyed the livestream the other day.

    Karen from Boaz Bible Students.

Thanks Karen. Great insight. Its very true sometimes its a relationship we trust a Doctor , nurse or other close relation leading us and themsleves astray. They maybe not realising themselves. The Greek word pharmakeia appears in Galatians 5:20 and Revelation 18:23. Terms from the same root word appear in Revelation 9:21, Revelation 21:8, and Revelation 22:15. These are typically translated into English as “sorcery,” “witchcraft,” or “sorcerer.”The Greek word pharmakeia appears in Galatians 5:20 and Revelation 18:23. Hi Maria,

      Nice to meet you.

So, if I am getting what you are saying: since you started with doctors and nurses and then went to “pharma…”

You are looking at pharmaceuticals as something that will lead us astray.

I haven’t seen a commercial in a long time, but remember them advertising pills that the side affects were “you might run out and start gambling” or “suicide” for antidepressants.

The things they are talking about today are even worse.

I think Satan has many angles to trip us up. What works for me, might not work for you and so on.

We have to keep on pressing on and faint not. We have to lay aside the weight/sin that so easily distracts us and run with all our heart. I think sometimes we forget that we are in a race and we forget to run.

      Lord bless

    Hi Karen,

    Nice to meet you too.

Yes basically I think that is how we have been led astray via its for our health, its the whole set up of our current health care, every aspect of life, if we look at the debate on abortion its apparently for Womans health, debate on Sexuality its genetic apparently and sex changes etc are for health, Vaccines regardless how they are made sometimes using aborted animals and human babies its again justified for “health”. I think this is the method of deception and distruction. With many people like many Doctors and nurses doing it for what they inderstand as Good, not really thinking about the contradictictions. But unfortunately it is not all good. Its also not just Western medicine and drugs its accross the board Chinese and Aruveda etc, many practices are wrong, some are fine but many are not. The reason I raise the word Pharmakea as its meaning in the original language of the New Testament of the bible Koine Greek which I am studying is translated to Sorcery in English, so people think of a Magic men type image , when rather, the term suggests various forms of drug abuse. Those might include drug use in pagan worship, as an addiction, or as a poison used to manipulate and control others. : Its what we are seeing basically today. Nice to be in touch God bless.

I appreciated this latest video on Sardis.

As I stated earlier that I have visited these sites in the mid 1990s and early 2000s. Of all the places we went, Sardis was by far my favorite. It was so beautiful. We did on 2 occasions climb the mountain (I saw in a recent video that it is now gated off). We went to the temple at the bottom of the mountain and climbed up through the olive trees.

    The view is spectacular.

I also kind of feel bad that my favorite place is the one which is “dead” spiritually.

Looks good from the outside, but nothing going on in the inside. I appreciated the comments about the museums (churches) in Europe–did notice that in Prague. Also the comments about the succeeding generations who don’t hold the Truth and the Lord highly–its just a way of life for them–or rather what they do on Sunday–or its just a social gathering

We can all fall into that trap (or snare of the devil), when we become lazy Christians–we don’t study, we don’t witness, we don’t pray.

    Lord bless

Enjoying your discussion on the Church of Philadelphia.

That was our study last Friday from a character perspective.

You have little strength—by yourself you are really nothing, but keep doing the work of the Lord. Tim mentioned being about the business of the Lord in the video. Yes, we keep doing it–even our little all.

Jesus will open doors that need to open, not us.

Also, that open doors comes from Isaiah

Isa 22:22 “I will put the key to David’s house around his neck. If he opens a door, no one will be able to close it. If he closes a door, no one will be able to open it.

Jesus is the King, he makes the rules. He makes the decisions–so if he calls someone, he calls someone–we cannot decide who is a Christian and who is not–not our call–especially if they bear fruits. Many denominations will deny others a relationship with Jesus because they are not of their denomination: “There is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church”, –and they are not the only ones with this thinking.

These Christians don’t deny Jesus! How can we deny Jesus? By not witnessing, by not obeying him, by not praying. Jesus says those that deny him, he will deny before the Father.

Luk 12:8-9 KJV Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

Next you talked about the Tribulation

Rev 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Everyone who follows Christ will have tribulation–that is a promise. Jesus says in Matt. 24

Mat 24:6-8 KJV And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Ukraine and all the other wars and civil unrest is not the Great Tribulation. They are localized pockets of trouble. The Great Tribulation is equated with the days of Noah. Peter also talks of this time and add the added

2Pe 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Jude tells us about the Fallen Angels who were bound at the time of the flood–but will be loosed at the time of the Great Tribulation (that is why it is so horrible–you can’t hide from fallen angels)

Jud 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

This is what the Little Flock, the Bride of Christ will be saved from. When the Church is taken from the world–the 4 winds are let loose. The 4 Winds are the Great Tribulation. The salt is taken from the world and putrefaction sets in very fast.

Rev 7:1-3 KJV And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

I have a gay granddaughter. Her parents and other grandparents are fine with it. I am not, but I love her, and I do not want to shut off my relationship with her by standing loudly against her. What should I do?

FIRST, continually pray heavily asking the LORD for guidance. Remembering that homosexuality is a sin, just as fornication or adultery are, is the key. Needless to say, we are all sinners. And your position as a Grandparent is to love her first, and help her along the path of becoming a follower of Jesus, if she isn’t already. You must love and support her, but not become entangled with her life style. You need to gently and lovingly let her know this as your relationship with her builds and strengthens. She needs to be able know and trust you. You may be the one person that will lead her to Salvation. Letting her know the LORD’S stance on sin and sexual immorality should come in the proper time. She should know that you do not pass judgement on her, or condemn her, as that is the LORD’S domain, but lovingly point out your belief in regards to these areas, again at a proper time. And of course, these conversations should be kept private and not involve the other relatives. Basically, love her, just not her life style. It will involve tough decisions and choices for you. But through pray and love the road can be navigated, which could result in the LORD changing her and her life style. Praying for you and her. Ld

Its not an easy place to be in, but remember that you are a living epistle of Christ and how you handle it reflects on him. So, lots of prayer as was already stated is always in order.

I have a gay cousin–she is much younger than I am, so there wasn’t much of a relationship. We were invited to the wedding, but we did not go and did not send a card or gift. We are now invited to a baby shower–which we will again avoid.

I feel that my cousin just invited us because she thought it was the right thing to do–but can’t imagine she expected us to come either as she knew us well enough to know where we were coming from.

I have never condemned her, but I don’t condone her either. “The world will love its own.” I don’t have a problem talking to her, but I cannot recognize their union and would not visit them either.

I take comfort in the fact that if I am faithful unto death and become part of the Bride of Christ that as the Priest of God–I can help her up the highway of holiness (Isa. 35), along with the rest of my unbelieving family and whomever the Lord gives me to work with. In the Kingdom on earth, when God’s will is done here, then the “world will know the Lord from the least unto the greatest.” And as King with Jesus and the rest of the Bride, not only ruling with the “rod of iron” so that no shenanigans go on, but with justice and love as well. Working with the great “mediator between God and man” bringing them back into harmony with God–what a blessing.

So, concentrate on the big picture–the end game.

Your standing for Christ may cost you your relationship –that is part of the sacrifice we make when we devote our lives to the Lord. He promises it will divide families–but we keep praying for them and loving them, but we cannot deny the Lord in the process.
