What do you know about Apologetics? Do you remember what first led you to faith in Christ – or – has helped to keep your faith firm since then?

2 very powerful ideas come to mind at this point reflecting many years on Bible study, reviewing personal faith, withstanding personal attacks, leaving cults, walking away from people who require adherence to bad influences, and considering priorities while navigating the way forward.
1.) No member of a cult believes they are part of a cult. This applies to religious cults, political cults, and cults of every type.
2.) 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus. Many (if not most) religions will substitute a man or group as the mediator, either directly or more dangerous, in a subtle fashion. 1 Timothy 2:5 is very clear in this matter. Jesus is your one and only mediator and you are responsible for your Faith. Give up your responsibility and “a mediator” will happily step forward. Look to Jesus as mediator and “see” the attacks. Most will never see the attacks coming, much less ever take a stand.
This is not meant as an attack on those who take the lead and attempt to shepherd a flock, as many have good intentions. However, there are far too many cults, religious and other with people who seek to control the agenda in your life. Christians must adhere to 1 Timothy 2:5 and look to the “one mediator between God and men”.
