Jim and Penny Caldwell spent years exploring and documenting the area in and around Jabal al-Lawz at a time when it was prohibited to do so, believing it was the true location of Biblical Mount Sinai. Are you familiar with these Exodus Explorers and what are your thoughts on Jabal al-Lawz?

Did I hear correctly that Lennart Moeller passed away? We enjoyed The Exodus Case immensely, and are sorry to learn about Lennart’s death…

      Hello Bob and Mimi,

Yes, sadly, Dr. Möller did pass away recently. He will be deeply missed! We are comforted in knowing he is with the LORD now though and that this life is not the end🙏

His book has definitely been an inspiration and faith strengthener for many!

Funny, I was recently thinking of the Caldwell’s and wondered what they might be up to.

This is very fascinating. I’m so very glad about all these documentaries because I have been following presentations of these biblical sites explorations since it started out as a 2-hour documentary under the name “The Exodus Conspiracy”.

A church showed “The Exodus Conspiracy” back in 2007/2008 (not sure of the year but was around that time), and a panel of the exploration team spoke to us after the documentary was shown in its entirety. This documentary presentation was a developmental step in how to present these explorations and evidence in film.

I remember that I couldn’t go to sleep because of the excitement I felt from all that was presented in the film. I’m so thankful to God that He gave wisdom to that team to present the evidence of the explorations in the present manner, which is the Patterns of Evidence series.

I’m very inspired. I’m wanting to read the details in the Bible for myself. I’m thrilled about how God is revealing Himself in history like this. I’m looking forward to more. Thank you!

I am so enjoying the adventures the Caldwells had in Saudi Arabia. I went to their Splitrock website to see more from them. I remember being told by “experts” that there was no evidence for the exodus….but it looks like the Caldwells found plenty of evidence. The sandal markings all over Saudi Arabia, the portable grinding mills, the possible cattle chutes at an altar site, the cave of Elijah on Mt. Horeb. It is quite fascinating as well as exciting. LOVE THIS!

There was no mere ‘typical’ Passover lamb nailed to the Cross at Golgotha, but Jesus, the Christ, the ‘antitypical’ Son of Man and Son and ‘Lamb’ of God, was. So, we have all the permission we need since that Cross, 2,000 years ago, to understand and to enjoy every real ‘antitype’ involved with the ancient Hebrew ceremonies, as they become clear to us, and that includes the ‘Ark of the Covenant’ that Jim Caldwell went in search of.

Psalm 40:8, describes the ‘heart’ (belly) of the Christ as having ‘thy Law’ within it, just as the ‘Ark of the Covenant’ did. The ‘New Covenant’ texts in Jeremiah 31 and Ezekiel 36, also describe God’s eternal promise to take away our ‘hearts’ (Hebrew ‘leb’, ‘lebab’ . . . .) of stone, and replace them with hearts of ‘flesh’ upon and within which His Spirit will then characterize His Law. This new arrangement agrees with King David’s request in Psalm 51 (after his Bathsheba-Uriah sin), for a ‘new heart’ and a ‘right spirit’ with ‘truth/trust in the inner man’ . . . and with Isaiah 66. So, truly, Nicodemus should have understood this ‘new covenant’ ‘new birth’ healing process, and its accomplishment through ‘beholding’ Christ on the Cross, just as Israel was once healed of snakebites by ‘beholding’ the brass serpent Moses lifted up.

Snake bite is a physical injury, but ‘sin’ is a mental-emotional injury of the nervous system processes centered in the ‘head’, that is why in ancient Israel’s religious services, a sinner placed their sins on the head — not on the back, or the tail — of a ‘lamb’ sacrifice. . . .

Now, tying all of this together, and to the vision of Jim Caldwell regarding the ‘Ark’ being returned to Mt. Sinai by a group of people :

In the last 30 years, neuroscientists have finally been able to use new hi-tech scanning tools in order to discover the long-hidden functions of the living, conscious inner brain. This area handles not only the ‘inner man’ organs of the ‘belly’ (Hebrew ‘me ah’, from Psalm 40:8), but it also helps process the emotions into the moral, or immoral, motives of the Biblical Hebrew ‘heart’ (‘leb’, ‘lebab’ . . . etc.) into physical actions. It also handles ‘trust’, and the lack of it, and contains ‘mirror neurons’ that enable ‘in-feeling’, or ’em-pathy’ with another person, simply ‘by beholding’ them. They could also be called ‘worship neurons’, since they enable us to ‘become’ the person we empathize with, in this same Biblical ‘heart’ of the human nervous system.

This same ‘heart’, then, is the perfect location for the Holy Spirit to take the ‘driver’s seat’ or ‘throne’ for governing behaviors in the individual ‘beholder’, and in 2010 one leading neuroscientist, Dr. Arthur ‘Bud’ Craig, announced that it is in fact ‘the center of all human behavior’. (Dr. Craig did much of his research into this part of the human brain at the same Karolinska Institute where Dr. Lennart Moller worked.) Other scholarly peer-reviewed papers since then have confirmed this. In Luke 17:20-21, Jesus explained this same ‘Kingdom of God within you’ to the Jewish Pharisees who had wrongly expected another mere ‘typical’, physical, visible ‘kingdom of this world’ to be governed by their Messiah, from ‘here’ or ‘there’.

And so, ‘anti-typically’ speaking, each time Jim Caldwell and his little family ‘group’ was strongly motivated by the Holy Spirit in their ‘spirits’ to return to Mt. Sinai — 14 times — this same moral-behavior-governing ‘ark’ and place ‘holy to God’ in the Biblical ‘heart’ of each of their individual nervous systems in their right brains . . . was in fact being ‘returned to Mt. Sinai’, on their own shoulders ! They were ‘mirroring’ and fulfilling Jim’s ‘ark’-vision, while using the same ‘mirror neurons’ first discovered at a university in Parma, Italy, in the Summer of 1991, right after the First Gulf War…

Truly, the study of Hebrew ‘anti-types’ made or sacrificed by God’s own ‘hands’, is far more interesting than the study of mere ‘types’ made or sacrificed by mere human hands !

    Possible correction to earlier ‘reply’:

Dr. Arthur ‘Bud’ Craig, at least did research in Sweden, but I can’t find the reference yet that led me to believe that he also worked at the Karolinska Institute, specifically. I’ll attach a link to a lecture he gave at Linkoping, University in the earlier 2000s.

RE: The last, ‘Eyewitness’ video of the series.

Irony is not possible in a ‘perfect world’.

There is tremendous irony in the fact that it was the same oil-greed of the Christian Western and European powers who rearranged the political landscape of the Middle East to best suit their own purposes. Purposes ‘for profit’ which simultaneously encouraged BOTH the formation of the modern (secular) Jewish State of Israel AND the Islamic Saudi Kingdom’s control of the landscapes where the original Hebrew nation of Israel was developed in Midian. ‘Christian’ pursuit of profits thus created a perfect conflict of interests focused in the Middle East that continue to this day.

Yet, somehow, Western Christians still continue to try to make sense of their past errors of interfering with God’s own perfect plans. Whatever those might have been can now never be known, since the ‘Oil-god’ has been worshipped, instead, for at least the past century. But I can imagine that in God’s own perfect plans, it never should have been such a difficult and dangerous task for any Christian to simply visit the landscapes of the Bible and to see for themselves the evidences of God’s Personal dealings with the humans He both created, and now re-Creates, ‘by beholding’.

I’m a new member as of 2/4/22 and looking to watch The Making of an Exodus Explorer. Where do I find that on Historical Faith Society site? I did see the 1:25 intro of the documentary but did not see where to watch following that? Sorry for the inquiry and that I am missing it.

    Thank You

        Hey Dennis,

        Thank you for the reply!

The link is taking me to the watch video but then still only playing the 1 min 25 second overview of Exodus Explorer and overview of the other videos. No big deal if they aren’t available yet! I just want to make sure I am not missing something on my end: and I’m grateful for the fine work and contributions of the HFS and expert contributors. Thank You Sir

That’s a shame. But I’ve noticed that the program they use for HFS can be a bit clumsy and slow. You might also try using the ‘smiling message’ icon at the bottom right corner of your screen to contact one of those who monitor the HFS site. Maybe they can explain why you can’t yet see the videos. I signed up in the ‘for free’ category and I still got to see them, so I imagine that you should also be able to. Meanwhile, try this link to another side of the Caldwell’s story if you want to. :

I’m glad someone is still out there in HFS cyberspace keeping an eye on things !

I finally used this northern Michigan cabin-fever day to fill out my own HFS ‘About-Bio’, in which I came ‘clean’ about the ‘historical’ reasons for my own interest in keeping an eye on HFS and Tim Mahoney’s other work.

Thanks to yourself, whoever responded to Todd.
